December 25th - Christmas   (Holiday held same day)   As it falls on a Sunday this year it will not affect businesses.  However, most companies will be closed from December 24th to January 1st, 2012. Most banks will be open but may have special schedules which will be announced a couple of weeks in advance.

2012
January 1st - New Year's (Sunday)

April 5th and 6th - Easter. Some companies are closed for the whole week. Banks only close Thursday thru Sunday.

April 11th - Juan Santamaría Day (Holiday held on April 16th)

May 1st - Labor Day (Holiday held same day)

July 25th - Guanacaste Annexation (Holiday held same day.  Celebrations may last several days.)

August 2nd - Day of the Virgin (Holiday held on the same day)

August 15th - Mother's day (Moved to the following Monday).

September 15th - Independence Day (Holiday held same day)

October 12th - Cultures Day (Holiday Held on the following Monday)
