This majestic finca has about 4 miles of river frontage, 2,000 acres of grand old-growth rain forest, and resident wildlife like jaguars and macaws, three kinds of monkey and wild boar. The property divides naturally into three areas for future development - approximately 1235 acres (500 hectares) for conservation and ecological studies; 75 acres (30 hectares) for the tourist lodge, research station, cabins, open field building sites and forest trails;  and 925 acres (375 hectares) for low density, sophisticated residences.

Conventional access to Finca Florida is by boat downriver from the town of Sierpe, accessible by air from San Jose to Palmar Sur and then by ground transportation to Sierpe.  Game fishing is a popular activity on the river, and offshore in the Pacific.  The farm is a little more than a mile upstream from the mouth of the SierpeRiver which empties into Drake’s Bay. There are guest cabins on the farm, near the river, with accommodations for twenty guests. The cabins have been recently rebuilt, in addition to a new dock and landing.  The main lodge and kitchen is currently being rebuilt. The extensive network of trails through the farm provides access on foot, by horseback, or by quadracycle, for viewing the diverse wildlife and botanical resources.

The current owner has put the forested area under a 5 year contract at $100 x HA bringing in the farm $90,000 a year. Definitely enough to manage the farm yearly, and make improvements!
